IMEI fix for MT6755/53 Lenovo k5 note

IMEI FIX FOR MT6755/6753 

If you do not want to read this story then skip this i have written the Fix for Lenovo K5 note or MT6755 and MT 6753 in this post after the story.
 
My friend bought Lenovo k5 note a month ago and he tried to change the LTE band to band 40

using android MTK engineering mode. After he restarted phone IMEI got lost and NVRAM WARNING: Err = 0x10 comes up. After so he contacted the Lenovo Care. At Lenovo care they told my fried to change the Chip which is cost around 8000/-(INR) my friend refused to do same. And then he asked me to repair his Lenovo K5 note.

The same thing is happened with me with my Lenovo K4 note, but in my case i have accidentally  selected Format All+ Download in SP flash tool. I tried to fix for 2 days after that i gave up and took my phone to nearest mobile repair Shop. They fixed IMEI but not able to fix NVRAM WARNING : Err= 0x10 and S/N 00000000 . To fix that temporary i have rooted my Lenovo K4 note and replace WIFI and WIFI_CUSTOM files (google it), but using this i am getting random MAC Add. every time phones boots.

After that i installed custom rom and, waht guess??

Again IMEI got lost and that bad NVRAM WARNING Err = 0x10 came again. I tried for 2-3 days for this permanent fix. again i gave up and they tried to Flash using SP Flash tool . I don't know but anyhow IMEI came back and also NVRAM WARNING : Err= 0x10 error gone and also having the Fix MAC Add. but S/N is Still 00000000.

So after That i came at one conclusion that the modemdb and apdb playes major role.

if there is correct modemdb and apdb files in your device they no problem .

Now Coming Back to Track.

For fixing IMEI and NVRAM err i tried to flash the Lenovo K5 note using SP flash.

but Unfortunately every time SP Flash tool end up with error. I tried flashing using different Version of SP flash tool but not working. Also, Tried to flash using adb but that also end up with no permission error. So practically there is no method to flash Lenovo K5 note without flash box. so took the smart phone to the same shop where i previously fixed my Lenovo K4 Note but they refuse to fix after few try.

I think that there is only only way to fix is that pay 8000/- to Lenovo care to change the chip.

but i think that not to do same.

After a Week i found XDA thread (link to that thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/imei-lenovo-vibe-k5-note-please-help-t3467601) about IMEI fix of Lenovo K5 note. in that thread someone   had written that it can be fixed using SP META tool . so i downloaded that software and tried, unfortunately not worked. i started searching more about an hour then i Found Maui META tool

downloaded the latest version for that software in their catalog they have written that "added support for new MT65XX/MT67XX" .

Miracle!!!!!!

this Worked for me i have recoverd IMEI using that software.
unfortunately not able to fix NVRAM WARNING : Err = 0x10 
I will post for NVRAM as soon as possible.

!!!!!Warning!!!!! 

Plz only use this method to Fix device lost IMEI which can be found on its packing Box because changing IMEI is illegal .

However if you put wrong IMEI or random IMEI your simcards will not register with carriers or stays in emergency mode only so plz enter correct IMEI which came with your device.

TO FIX IMEI FOR LENOVO K5 NOTE OR ANY  PHONE HAVING MT 6755 or MT 6753

 Do Follow The Following Steps

First Switch Off  your device and grab a good USB data cable!!!

 

Step 1 :- Download this software Maui Meta v9.1635.23You have to sign up /login in needrom.com in order to download this software. If you do not want to sign up there then google for mirror link for the exact same version and download.

and download MTK USB DRIVERS and install it. before installing make sure that you have disabled the driver signature enforcement" (for win 8.1 nad win 10 users. Whats that?? Google!) very important! 

you might get zip file or a setup file if you get zip file then extract folder anywhare you want if you got setup file then install it.

Step 2 :- Start MauiMeta.exe

click on "reconnect" and connect your device to USB. put a phone aside it will boot in META mode.

Wait!!! it will took a minuet to connect device after that if any pop up window or a dialog-box will opens then close that.

and from drop down menu of Maui Meta select IMEI Download

  and wait it will open a popup in which you have to click on Change NVRAM database File

 it will open a dialog-box asking Yes or No click on YES 

 now type first 14 digit of IMEI for both of sims the 15th digit of IMEI automatically comes in checksum box.

Now click on "download to Flash"

after some time close that and click on disconnect and then disconnect your device from USB and boot up device.

oKy! thats it for Fixing IMEI of Lenovo k5 note MT6755  oR MT 6753 

 IMEI is back!!!!!!!!!!

as it supports all MT67xx and MT65xx CPU so this will work for all MTK devices.

Note:- I will upload method of fixing NVRAM WARNING : Err = 0x10 as of is a bit complex. using Maui META

But if you have not updated your Lenovo k5 note to S312 (volte update) then download the SN writer Tool letest version SN_Write_Tool_v2.1504.00 and try to write wifi mac address using that.

this vesion of SN writer is compatible with MT6755.

problem with me is that i have MD_DB file for S312 but not AP_DB so its not working if any one who is on S259 try to use SN writer tool and ,let me know is that working or not?
